MFOTA General Meeting with Special Guest Acrylic Artist Pamela Thielen.
Artists statement
Pamela Thielen, Acrylic Artist
I am a native of Oklahoma, but the desert has always called to me. In 2010, my husband and I answered that call, and moving to Maricopa, Arizona, has been a true blessing. The breathtaking desert landscapes combined with the convenience of city life offer an unmatched blend of natural beauty and accessibility. With just a short drive, I can be in the mountains, by the beach, or at one of the world’s natural wonders, making me feel as though I am at the heart of endless inspiration.
As an artist, I view the world through a unique lens, and my work often reflects the connection between the familiar and the extraordinary. I paint with acrylics, yet I apply techniques reminiscent of oil painting, resulting in a style that is distinctively my own. Under the guidance of Ginger Cook at the Academy of Fine Art and Acrylic Painting, I have honed my craft and developed a deeper appreciation for the medium. My goal is to create art that encourages viewers to find meaning and emotion in everyday moments, believing that every home deserves a piece that speaks to the heart and the soul and leaves the interpretation to the viewer.
When I'm not painting, I cherish spending time with my incredible husband, family, and friends, and I find solace in reading and exploring all the beauty Arizona has to offer.
